Description

Salzburg – FLAKE MASTER- GEAR DRIVE

What do gears do?

  • They prevent the rollers from spinning: Gear wheels significantly increase the functionality of the appliance. It is generally known that the rollers can spin during flake crushing.
In this new model, one roller is driven directly by the crank, the second roller by the gear wheels. This prevents annoying spinning.
  • More options for pressing a wide variety of seeds, e.g. sunflower seeds. Various appliances are often unable to press larger grains.
  • No sticking when pressing very oily seeds. Clogging (and thus spinning of the rollers) very often occurs when pressing linseed, poppy seeds etc.

The new Salzburg Flake Master with cogwheel drive is worth more than just a look:
The woodturning work of a local master craftsman demonstrates the highest quality and precision.
The sleek design is combined with perfect technology down to the smallest detail.
You can feel the quality craftsmanship that will inspire you.
Handmade in Salzburger-Land – each piece is unique.

For a good morning!

“Eat breakfast like an emperor”, as the old saying goes, and modern science doesn’t change that.

A healthy start to daily life is important. Whether for school, in the office or in the workshop: homemade breakfast muesli gives you strength and energy!

Salzburg flake master with gear drive - oakIndustrially produced flakes often keep for years. The high heating, usually via steam, destroys important vitamins and enzymes. It is obvious that the industry provides little information about this.
Therefore, the statements on the packaging do not say much about the value of the flakes. In short: organic quality does not mean wholesome!

“Organic”is an important basic requirement for a healthy diet. Even the best, organically grown grain can become almost worthless if handled incorrectly.

NOT ONLY FLAKES – You can also crush a wide variety of spices with the Flake Master:
Press the spices for your bread, for example.
The flaker produces larger, thinner flakes, which you can then crumble into the smallest particles by hand in seconds.

Statement from a professional chef: “
Spices are crushed better with the flaker than with any mortar!

The spices are wonderfully distributed in the bread, so you don’t notice fennel, for example, as a spice in the bread. The flavor of the fennel spreads throughout the bread.

The new Salzburger Flake Master with gear drive flakes and crushes:

  • All types of grain, such as oats, spelt, wheat, rye, etc.
  • Large grains such as sunflower seeds
  • Oily seeds such as linseed
  • Spices such as peppercorns, fennel, coriander, caraway etc.
  • Small woods such as licorice, hyssop

Scope of delivery:

  • Flake squeezer
  • Table clamp
  • Charge
  • Crank handle

Here are the details for those interested in technology:

Materials

  • All wooden parts are made from selected, high-quality oak wood. The oak wood comes exclusively from local forests.
  • The rollers are made of nickel-free steel.
  • The gear wheels are cut from corrosion-resistant stainless steel plates.
  • The scraper plates are also made of stainless steel.
  • The crank handle is made of stainless steel, and the handle is made of beech, oak or walnut wood.
  • The table clamp is a standard commercial product and is available with a larger span on request.

Components

  • Base frame
The Y-shape of the uprights combines technical necessity with aesthetic design. The two rear uprights are wider to cover the gear wheels. All 4 uprights are used to hold the rollers and scraper plates and to fix the hopper in place. A table stop is integrated into the base plate. The table clamp is recessed in the stop, which provides greater stability. All edges are rounded.
  • Funnel
The round, finely crafted shape of the funnel is completely free of edges on the inside. This seamless production avoids residues of seeds and grains. This rules out the possibility of contamination. The hopper base plate forms the transition from the rectangular shape of the uprights to the round shape of the hopper. The hopper unit is attached to the uprights using 4 wooden dowels. The hopper unit can be removed without tools for cleaning work on the rollers. The hopper base plate also covers the front of the gear guard (child protection). Funnel removal – see operating instructions.
  • Feed wedge
The feed wedge, through which the grain flows to the rollers, is located on the underside of the hopper base plate.
  • Rollers
The two nickel-free stainless steel rollers move in opposite directions, with the left-hand roller being driven by the hand crank. The internal crank thread runs outwards, the power is transmitted from the face of the crank thread to the face of the roller. This keeps the internal and external threads free of frictional connections. Both rollers have 2 smooth round surfaces with a larger diameter than the knurls. This prevents damage to the knurls during forceful fine adjustment. The counter-rotating knurls cause the crimping process.
  • Gear wheels
The two corrosion-resistant stainless steel gear wheels are pressed onto the rollers in a separate process after they have been manufactured. The gear wheels ensure perfect power transmission to the rollers, which is particularly important for very fatty seeds such as linseed.
  • Gate hinge screws
Wing nuts are attached to the two gate hinge screws (which pass through the base frame of the flaker). These are used to adjust the roller spacing and determine the thickness of the flakes.
Fine adjustment – see operating instructions.
  • Covering the gear wheels
An ingenious wooden cladding protects against injuries. There are slotted holes in the protective cover which, in conjunction with wooden pegs, ensure stable fastening. The conical elongated holes, the narrow wooden bars and the contours can only be made from the highest quality wood.
The cover is attached and removed without tools. See operating instructions.
  • Wooden pegs
The cover for the gear wheels is attached to the base frame using 4 wooden pegs. The wooden cones are not a commercial product, they are specially made for this flocker. The conical flank on the pin ensures that the protective cover is always positioned centrally. The pivot stop ensures the same installation depth and therefore a tight seal.
  • Scraper plates
The stainless steel scraper plates remove the pressed material from the rollers
  • Hand crank
The hand crank is made of stainless steel and the handle is made of oak wood. The external thread is turned into the thread of the left-hand roller.
  • Drawer
The flocked material falls from the rollers into the drawer, which is positioned between the uprights on the base plate.
  • Wedge
The enclosed wooden wedge is used to release the crank after a pressing process – see operating instructions.
  • Brass brush
The supplied brass brush is used to clean the rollers, scraper plates, and inlet wedge; see the operating instructions.

Hear from our customers

We consistently receive positive reviews from our happy customers, and we look forward to providing you with the same level of service.

“My stone grain mill arrived today just two days after ordering. I really appreciate your good service and this machines is a high quality product that looks good and works well.”

Jason

“The first test i did with the Skippy Mill was an eye opener beyond belief. Making the dough with freshly milled flour is such a great experience. The dough is beautifully alive and full of enzyme activity. The flavour of the bread is out of this world. Every home baker should mill the flour just before mixing the dough and have this as the standard.”

Michael Klausen

Founder Brasserie Bread

“Many thanks for the wonderful grain mill I purchased some weeks ago from you. It works beautifully and the resulting flour/flakes are incomparable to any shop-bought produce. The fussy family even enjoys the resultant bread (one teen will only eat my bread!).”
