The BILLY 2 features a Solid Birchwood multiplex housing. The 11 ply construction is very stable and rugged with a pleasing appearance, naturally finished in Linseed Oil. Using large self-sharpening 100mm mill stones, the BILLY 2 produces very fine flours from a wide variety of items; for all the regular grains like wheat, rye and spelt etc., and is also very good for other items like chick peas, lentils and corn etc. Fine to coarse flours are possible with the infinitely adjustable mill-work, which does not move during operation. Fine output is a genuine 10% finer than other stone grinder brands, translating into more options for better starters, finer baked items, spice grinds etc. The motor is a very strong 600W brushless direct drive induction design. Safety Lab tested in Australia to 240V, the BILLY 2 is able to grind corn and other hard items with ease, providing good output and reliable operation for decades. We love our Hawos BILLY 2 – 600 Watt mill! We had a Hawos Billy 1 for 15 years and just love the products we make with the flour: bread, pizza, muffins, pasta. Don’t know how people eat food not made with wholemeal stoneground flour! When the time came to replace the stones we had a great conversation with Skippy Mills about how much we use the mill (a LOT!) and we decided to upgrade to the bigger motor. I was particularly impressed with the customer service from Skippy mills. They were supportive and informative. We look forward to another 15 years with this mill and when it’s time to replace the stones we’ll keep the mill and do that.

The Billy 2 is ridiculously easy to use and I love that I can have freshly milled flour in seconds! I’m made fresh sourdough loaves- the FMF has definitely beefed up my sourdough starter and it is healthier than ever.
We are beyond happy with our Billy 2 and recommend it to anyone who is considering a home mill- you won’t regret it! There is nothing like your own fresh milled flour!
