How it works

The Skippy Proofer & Slow Cooker Au creates an environment with constant low-temperature heat, which is essential for many cooking processes. Our proofer offers the ideal heat for dough, yoghurt, superfoods and for tempering chocolate.

A thermostat on the underside of the proofer controls the heat so that the proofer works much more continuously than standard yoghurt makers, dehydrators or ovens with proofing inserts. The ingredients are heated by radiant heat from the base and usually remain stable within a few degrees.

Gentle and uniform radiant heat rises from the aluminium heating plate and heats the ingredients. Grids and inserts are kept in the device when they are stowed away. In fermentation mode, the digital temperature controller provides you with settings from 21 ° -49 ° C.

Fermentation mode – moist

For rising bread dough, the humidity can be increased by using the supplied water container (typical humidity 60-80%).

Fermentation mode – dry

The Proofer & Slow Cooker can of course also be used without a water bowl. This is particularly suitable for tempering chocolate and for making yoghurt, butter, tempeh, kefir, kombucha, sour cream, creme fruit, and cheese.  To do this, remove the water bowl and place your container with the ingredients on the rack above the heating plate.
